Hive Group has an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst & Automation Developer to join our existing Business Intelligence team providing program-level data management, analytics and visualization development to a federal Agency.

Candidates are required to reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area (DMV). This is a hybrid position, and candidates must be available to report to the main office as needed.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrates leadership through ownership and accountability, sets clear goals, drives outcomes, communicates proactively, and upholds delivery standards with interest and capacity to take on broader team and task leadership as opportunities arise.
  • Translates mission needs into productized solutions by running discovery with federal stakeholders, converting objectives into requirements and technical roadmaps, and shipping intuitive, data-driven apps and dashboards. 
  • Owns day-to-day delivery operations by prioritizing task backlogs, managing project schedules, and maintaining quality, reliability, and compliance across efforts. 
  • Drives stakeholder alignment and communication by briefing executives clearly, managing client relationships, and partnering with Federal POCs, Contract PMs, and Hive Competency/Task Leads to stay aligned with the Hive technical roadmap. 
  • Applies working knowledge and expertise in federal acquisition, program delivery, business intelligence and data management to scope work, staff effectively, and manage performance. Contributes to productization and reuse by packaging solutions, templates, and components for cross-contract adoption and participating in sandbox innovation tied to Hive’s AI and automation roadmap.
  • Advances governance and organizational maturity by informing data governance, recruiting, and strategic planning with BI leadership and promoting standards for security, observability, documentation, and change management. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience delivering business intelligence, data analytics, or automation solutions within federal or enterprise environments. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, business intelligence, data or information management, or similar. A graduate degree is preferred but not required.
  • End-to-end experience delivering automation of workflows, building custom HTML/JS interfaces, integrating APIs, and deploying secure, modular web apps within client environments utilizing Google Workspace (Apps Script, AppSheet, Looker, BigQuery). 
  • Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling, with the ability to design efficient, scalable data structures that support both Tableau dashboards and GAS web apps. 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows for Google Apps Script (CLASP, VS Code, GitHub) and deploying reusable tools via containerized environments (Docker). 
  • Ability to design and develop user-friendly, visually consistent interfaces for products by applying design thinking principles, user research, and feedback loops (Human-Centered Design). 
  • Skilled in creating intuitive workflows and visual systems that enhance adoption, accessibility, and usability across diverse user groups (UI/UX). 
  • Familiarity with Databricks for building, deploying, sharing, and maintaining enterprise-level data, analytics, and AI solutions at scale. 
  • Experience or understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) to complement Google solutions and broaden technical offerings. 
  • Certifications (not required): Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Desktop Certified Associate Preferred, Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate/Professional) or Data Analyst (SQL) Associate, Microsoft PowerPlatform (PL-900, PL-100/200, PL-400/500; PL-600 a plus), NN/g UX Certification (or UX Master), HFI CUA/CXA, or UXQB CPUX-F/Advanced, relevant Google Cloud Skills Boost badges (e.g., Develop with Apps Script and AppSheet). 
  • Clearance eligibility (able to pass both a criminal background check and credit check). 

Compensation and Benefits 

The estimated compensation range for this position is between $140,000 and $155,000 annually, based on benchmarks in the Washington, D.C. area. This range reflects a good faith estimate for all experience levels. At Hive Group, salary decisions are influenced by several factors, including but not limited to the role, location, and the combination of education, training, skills, certifications, competencies, and relevant work experience.
