Marketing and Communication Specialist and Facilities Assistant

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Marketing and Communication Specialist and Facilities Assistant in McLean, VA, to support our General Services Agency (GSA) client. You will work closely with agency stakeholders to develop strategic messaging that demonstrates how GSA initiatives—from sustainable building projects to cutting-edge IT acquisitions—save taxpayer dollars and improve government efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your creative marketing skills in a fast-paced contracting environment where your individual contributions have a direct, visible impact on national operations.
This is a Hybrid position requiring candidates to reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with the expectation of working onsite at a minimum of one day a week at our corporate headquarters in McLean, VA with additional day(s) coordinated with onsite Office Manager to support client meeting requirements.
Key Responsibilities: MARCOM
- Act as a reliable point of contact between our firm and GSA program managers, helping the MARCOM Task Lead in ensuring all marketing deliverables align with contract requirements, federal standards, and timelines.
- Draft, edit, and proofread a medium volume of materials, including newsletters, factsheets, press releases, internal memos, and executive briefings.
- Assist in the planning, promoting, and executing of virtual and in-person events such as webinars, industry days, and trade shows to connect the GSA with industry partners and other federal agencies.
- Facilitate project kick-offs and recurring alignment meetings by drafting agendas, coordinating stakeholder calendars, and documenting actionable meeting minutes.
- Assist in maintaining, optimizing, and updating GSA-facing web pages and social media accounts, ensuring strict compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and plain language guidelines.
- Maintain organized complaints and secure digital contract files, creative asset libraries, and shared drives for all campaign deliverables.
- Coordinate with external print, promotional, or multi-media vendors to manage production schedules, proof reviews, and timely delivery of physical marketing materials.
- Track, analyze, and report on performance using web and social analytics to generate Monthly Status Reports (MSRs) and quarterly contract metrics.
Key Responsibilities: Facilities Management
- Provide onsite office support and client meeting support in direct partnership with the onsite Office Manager and IT Specialist.
- Routine back-up POC for the Office Manager: front desk coverage, meeting scheduling, preparation, support tasks, compliance with security procedures, vendor coordination, and ad hoc support requests from clients, visitors, guests, and/or Hive Group employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations, or a related field, plus 0-2 years of professional communications experience.
- Proactive, "hands-on" professional who thrives in a lean, agile environment and can independently manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong writing and editing skills tailored for a government audience, focusing on clarity, professional tone, and strict adherence to the GSA Editorial Style Guide.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of passing a federal background check to obtain a GSA Public Trust credential.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated compensation range for this position is between $70,000 and $80,000 annually. Actual salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s specialized skills, certifications, and years of experience.
