Power BI Analyst / Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking a Power BI Analyst / Associate to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the current DIVE application built using Power BI. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering impactful data insights, performance reports, dynamic visualizations, and executive dashboards across multiple Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) Deployment and Sustainment Division (DSD) projects. You will integrate data from diverse sources—including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Project—to convert complex data into actionable solutions for leadership and key stakeholders.

Telework Policy: Off-site telework may be permitted based on current TSA telework policies, TSA approval, and space availability. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Maintenance & Development: Lead all aspects of development, optimization, and maintenance for the Power BI-based DIVE application.
  • Data Integration: Extract, transform, and integrate data across multiple disparate sources including Microsoft Excel, Access Databases, MS Project, and internal SharePoint/iShare repositories.
  • Dashboards & Reporting: Design, build, and maintain executive-level dashboards, interactive visualizations, and performance metrics reports across DSD initiatives.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to capture analytical business requirements and translate them into robust technical reporting solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with deployment teams, project leads, and program stakeholders to ensure alignment on metrics and reporting objectives.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain data documentation, dashboard governance, and reporting protocols in accordance with program standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence (BI), or reporting roles.
  • Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Power BI development, DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
  • Data Sources: Proven capability connecting, querying, and transforming data from Microsoft Excel, MS Access Databases, and Microsoft Project.
  • M365 Ecosystem: Expertise in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Project, Word, iShare/SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Access.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to interface with non-technical stakeholders, gather complex business requirements, and deliver technical solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Certification: Official Power BI Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate / PL-300) preferred or at the discretion of the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Experience working within the federal government environment/DHS/TSA preferred.

Clearance & Background Check Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TSA Fitness Determination / Public Trust Clearance prior to starting work.
  • U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent residency required per DHS/TSA suitability guidelines

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $190,000 annually. This range represents Hive Group’s good faith and reasonable estimate of expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual starting salary decisions are individualized and influenced by several factors, including but not limited to contract funding, geographic location, and a candidate's specific combination of education, training, skills, certifications, competencies, and relevant work experience.
