Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist is a full-time, on-site (5 days/week) position located in McLean, VA, responsible for providing hands on technical support, conference room readiness, Google Workspace administration, hardware lifecycle management, and direct government client support.
This hybrid role includes billable responsibilities while also supporting internal corporate operations such as facilities coordination, onboarding/off-boarding, vendor communication, and occasional front desk coverage.
The position additionally supports company-wide IT, security, and compliance initiatives, including documentation efforts and alignment with CMMC and NIST 800-171 requirements.

The position additionally supports company-wide IT, security, and compliance initiatives, including documentation efforts and alignment with CMMC and NIST 800-171 requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily onsite presence (8am–4pm preferred), with flexibility for earlier arrival when needed.
- Prepare and support conference rooms, including:
- Network and internet checks
- Printing assistance
- HDMI/USB-C connectivity
- Setup and troubleshooting of Logitech Meetup, Google Meet hardware, and related AV devices
- Coordinate and track GFE equipment shipments:
- Ship Chromebooks and other devices
- Receive, wipe, and reissue returned equipment
- Deliver polished, professional customer service to all government personnel.
- Submit weekly status updates and support additional client deliverables.
- Ensure consistent on-site coverage in coordination with the Office Manager.
- Serve as the primary in-office point of contact for all IT support needs.
- Troubleshoot issues related to:
- Windows and ChromeOS
- MFA access
- Printing and peripherals
- User account access
- Perform Google Workspace administrative tasks, including:
- User provisioning and deprovisioning
- Group membership management
- Drive/Shared Drive access updates
- Basic security alert review and escalation
- Provide support for VPN, Wi-Fi, VLAN access, and endpoint health checks.
- Maintain AV equipment, perform firmware updates, and assist with IT documentation.
- Assist IT leadership with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other internal security compliance efforts, including:
- Collecting audit/assessment data
- Updating systems documentation and asset inventories
- Supporting technical implementation tasks
- Reinforcing adherence to security processes (badging, device handling, workspace security)
- Contribute to IT infrastructure upgrades, equipment rollouts, and long-term operational improvements.
- Provide suggestions to strengthen the company’s technical and security posture.
- Prepare laptops and Chromebooks for new hires (imaging, updates, security baselines, software installs).
- Ship equipment to new hires and remote staff.
- Maintain accurate device and asset inventory records.
- Support equipment returns, device wipes, and asset reassignment coordination.
- Provide front desk coverage when the Office Manager is unavailable.
- Support facility operations, including:
- Visitor and contractor badging
- Vendor coordination
- Workspace maintenance and organization
- Ensuring a secure, professional, and well-maintained office environment
- Assist with site readiness and facilities-related tracking activities.
- Communicate with vendors to request license increases, renewals, and additional seats.
- Assist with quoting and purchasing processes for hardware and software.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with Google Workspace administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, ChromeOS, printers, conference room AV, and workstation setup.
- Networking knowledge (IP addressing, VLANs, Wi-Fi).
- Ability to learn new tools and platforms (NinjaOne, Sophos XDR, Fortinet, etc.).
- Direct experience with conference room setups is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong prioritization, documentation, and follow-through.
- Reliable daily on-site presence.
- Experience and exposure to NIST 800-171, CMMC, or related federal security/control frameworks (familiarity with security controls, documentation, or compliance processes is a plus).
- Managing an IT Department.
- Prior GovCon or government client support experience.
